Yael is a mental health professional with over 20 years of professional experience in counselling and other psychotherapy modalities. She is a certified Hypnotherapist, NLP therapist, Family Constellations Facilitator, RLT (Relational Life Therapy) therapist, public speaker, clinical supervisor and trainer.
She is experienced in working with adults, teenagers, children, couples, families and groups.
Yael has a Masters degree in Social Work and a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy. In her university research (Masters thesis) Yael focused on successful couple relationships, specifically on successful relationships second-time-round (Tel Aviv University 2006). She draws on her research and the below approaches when working with couples and families.

Yael’s Counselling Approach and Style
In her sessions Yael is there with her clients in a very direct way, willing to help people look into their issues, into their life and family history as well as ancestral history and see it in ways they didn’t see before.
Often symptoms are gifts that point people to look into something important that is holding them back in life. Addressing symptoms may bring healing not only to that area of life, but also to life as a whole human being, as the symptom is often just the trigger to do something about it.
The therapeutic process people and couples go through with Yael is a fascinating journey of discovery, of making connections and of healing.
Yael’s style is very direct and uncompromising in looking into what is truly there that was unseen. At the same time she is full of love and compassion regarding what is discovered, and together with humour and laughter the experience is fascinating, enjoyable and life changing.
In the counselling sessions Yael uses different psychotherapeutic modalities and approaches, when suitable, such as Hypnotherapy, NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming, Systemic Family Constellations, RLT – Relational Life Therapy.
Hypnotherapy assists in creating a shift in a person’s life by accessing the unconscious mind and the body, calming down the nervous system, and helping a person take on the new behaviours and ways of thinking naturally and easily. Hypnotherapy enables people to access painful experiences in their life in a healing way. Hypnotherapy assists in refocusing us on that which brings us to be resourceful calm and happy. Some of the sessions with Yael will include hypnotherapy work when people feel comfortable and are happy to do so.
NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) models success, looks at how things work well for some people, and assists us in finding the direction towards resources, change and solution. In treating anxiety we model calm people, in treating depression we model happy people, when working towards weight loss we model naturally slim people as well as people that lost weight successfully, and in couples therapy we model couples in successful relationship.
NLP is a way of changing someone’s thoughts and behaviours to help achieve desired outcomes for them. NLP gives us techniques that access our neurological pathways accurately to create new behaviours and responses, changing automatic ‘buttons’ and habits.
Systemic Family Constellations is an effective short term therapy that has the potential to arrive at the roots of problems in a short time. It is a therapeutic process that allows individuals to heal from personal challenges that originate in their past, in their family, and in their family’s history. Family Constellations gathers observations about how things tend to flow in families and how things tend to get stuck. Knowing about these observations is critical in helping people look into what they have been doing or experiencing in their relational life and learning to shift it towards what bring more flow into relationships and into life in general. With Family Constellation we can address the parts of the problem which are related to our relationship with others and to where we come from. Looking at your issue through Family Constellations is a very powerful experience. It can be done in one on one sessions, and is most powerful in a group workshop.
From short-term to long-term therapy, change oriented therapy: The approaches Yael works with are oriented to assist in making a shift in a person’s / couple’s /family’s / child’s life, and in healing from problem symptoms.
Some people will only need a session or two in order to make the shift happen in their life, while most people will make the shift in 3-6 sessions. Many people find that they enjoy and benefit from coming to sessions and continue sessions for a while until they feel well established in their new ways of being. Some people keep in touch for years, coming and going as needed.
